Tour Guide at Albion College
Class of 2020
Hometown: Westland, MI
Concentration: Primary Education
I chose Albion because I felt safer on campus than I did at home. Every face you pass holds a smile and usually follows by a wave. I loved how dedicated every student was and that education was a number one priority. Also, the small campus means I can be more personable with my professors. They all know me by name, answer my emails or calls within hours, and will keep me on track if I need an extra push. The staff here honestly care about your well-being and put together stress free zones once exams come up, including an oxygen bar, massages, snacks, and puppies. Lastly, Albion gave me the opportunity to get my teaching degree within the four years that I'm here. Albion prepares me to be who I want to be.
Education is my favorite course at Albion. It strengthens my abilities and gets me on the right track to become an elementary teacher. With this course, I step into a classroom as a student teacher the first chance I get so I gain the experience I need to become an educator myself.
A few of my life goals include finishing a novel I started a few years ago, and to not regret a moment of my life.
The most meaningful place on campus is the Kappa Delta lodge. Though, my sorority sisters and I do not live in one house together, we have a common space that is only available to us. It's a great spot to do homework, find a sister if I need someone to lean on, and to also feel like I'm home.
